How do I put a scope on my rifle?
It’s a Savage Mark II Model F .22 lr, when I ordered it, it was advertised as being shipped with scope already attached, but when I got the receipt, they only charged me for the rifle itself and it didn’t come with a scope. So now I have to buy a base/mount and scope, does anyone know the specs for this rifle?
The gun should already have the bases attached to the receiver if you bought it NIB. All you need to do is buy a set of rings to go with the scope you choose. I’d go with a 3X9 variable but that’s just me. Anyway, once you have the rings, unscrew the tops of both of them and loosely mount them to the bases. Slip the scope into the rings and loosely tighten down. With the gun to your shoulder in the firing position slide the scope forward or back until you get the eye relief you want. Make sure the cross hairs are absolutely horizontal and vertical. Tighten everything snugly. Happy shooting!
