Hair metal or grunge?
To me, it’s a pancakes vs. waffles or peanut butter vs chocolate question, and I’ve always been a waffles and chocolate person. I just can’t stand the homophobia and the sexism. Plus, music that is all about aqua-net and leather pants seems kinda, well, like a joke. And I’ve always just been drawn to Alice in Chains, the Pixies, Nirvana, and Soundgarden. Those bands’ B-sides are better than anything Guns ‘n’ Roses or Whitesnake ever put out.

I did answer my own question. I was just curious about everyone else. Plus, I kinda needed to vent because my Dad says that “Kurt Cobain and his little liberal flannel-shirted buddies killed rock.” We have completely different tastes in music, in case you couldn’t tell.

Uhh… Alice in Chains? Childish? This is the first I’ve heard of this…
I love both but I’ll pick grunge over hair metal just because of how rapid the outbursts of crappy hair bands were after Poison, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Cinderella got their names big. Plus most of today’s more decent music takes influence from Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
You also picked my two least favorite hair bands to mention, which I like.
