can you legally carry a leatherman (multi tool kit) while you are in the bush in NSW?
a leatherman is like a pair of pliers but with extra tools, which includes a knife (pictured here http://www.leatherman.com/products/tools/charge-AL/default.asp ), so I was wondering if you could get in trouble when carrying one in the bush
is there any acts or laws that says you can’t?

I have been trying to find some information about it before but to now avail
please give me links of places of information about it
it would be very useful
Good question. I actually asked myself that same question about 3 months ago, when I bought my first leatherman.
It depends where you live I guess. I found out that where I live, in the Netherlands, there are certain area’s (like city centers) where you can get into trouble if you are carrying one. It also depends here if you carry one on your belt, where it’s easy to access, or in a bag or toolbox.
Anyway, it is a tool that I also need for work, but at the same time it’s a weapon. The knife on it is extremely sharp. So if I would get stopped by the police, and I carry it with me on my belt, they might charge me for carrying a weapon and confiscate it. Which would be awful as I am completely in love with the thing
However, I was in France, camping, recently (where there are knife shops everywhere) and I just wore it on my belt most of the time. Only when I got to cities I put it in my bag.
So, just check out the rules from where you live. For me, to avoid risk, I only put it on my belt if I am in open country, camping or something like that. I have it with me almost always, but out of reach (and so out of sight).
