Old Teddy Bears

There are not many people around the world who, when introduced to an old teddy bear does not go just a little bit weak at the knees.  For over a century now since his birth in 1902, the teddy bear has been collected by thousands of men, women and children everywhere regardless of wealth, sex or nationality.  The teddy bears’ fame has simply gone from strength to strength.

Teddy Bears make wonderful companions, comforters and mascots whether they are new or old, whether they come from one of the famous teddy bear makers such as Steiff or indeed, whether they have been handmade from recycled materials.  However, if you want to own a teddy bear that has history or provenance, then investing in an old teddy bear is always worthwhile, although his price may seem a little on the high side (compared to a new teddy bear), what you are buying is a little bit of history – a beautiful moment in time.  I feel that you are also buying something of beauty and nostaligia and after all, what price can you put on that.

Make no doubt about it, all old teddy bears have history.  Old teddy bears also have loads and loads of charm and charisma and even if you do not intend starting a collection, then why not buy an old teddy bear to sit on a bed (he always brings warmth to a room) or why not sit an old bear in an old chair, or even on a shelf.  In the right place an old teddy bear can add loads of charm to a roon and you will find that an old teddy bear will become a focal point to a room.  If you have guests they seem to always notice an elderly teddy bear and will probably want to pick him up and give him a great big cuddle (he won’t mind that at all).

If you need to off load some worries or problems that are troubling you, talk to your old teddy bear, he is always ready to listen, he will never ever judge you and will always keep the biggest of secrets, after all this is his main duty in life.

Old teddy bears are wonderful and are always a friend for life!

Load bearing walls on second floor?

Is it possible to have load bearing walls on the second floor of a two story home? My friend and I are remodeling his home and we are looking to cut a 9 foot opening into a wall. We fear that it is a load bearing wall. Any pointers?
The ceiling is tied to the roof trusses which are connected to the roof.

yes there are load bearing walls on 2nd floors of houses. You need to get the original plans for the house to find out where they are located. You can get the plans from your local building department. You can still remove the wall but need to replace that section with a beam. All of which needs to be engineered and permited.
